The Honourable Baroness Catherine Ashton
Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy
President of the European Commission.
The case of Abdallah Abu Rahma, member of the Bil’in
We have recently become familiar with your statement of 24th August 2010,
expressing concern about the
conviction of Abdallah Abu Rahma.
We would like to express our respect and appreciation of your very clear
message about the right of the Palestinians to non-violent protest against the
illegal part of the Israeli separation barrier.
We are a group of Danish women, who in 2003 attended ”International
March of Women for Human Rights” in
. Since then we have in different ways tried to support the Israeli
and Palestinian human rights and peace groups, we met during the march.
We have especially supported the Israeli ”Women’s Organization for
Political Prisoners”, but also Defence for Children International/Palestinian
section and other organizations.
In January 2008 we organized a tribunal in
about Palestinian women and children in Israeli prisons. We ask you
kindly to accept a DVD, which together with a pamphlet might give you an
impression of the outcome of the tribunal.
